Bunnings Fundraiser Sausage Sizzle

In what was the busiest day of the year at Bunnings, being the day before Fathers Day, NYP Dragons was able to run a very successful fundraiser BBQ. Our best result yet!
It was great to see so many new faces rolling up their sleeves & chipping in.
Thanks to all our participants who volunteered their time on the day. Deb Virtue, Lachie Joyce, Chloe Sargent, Jane & Caitlin Ward, Liz & Gabriel Thomas, Tim Benedict, Millie & Kerrie Castor, Oliver Nunis, Geromi Tucker, Kim Tremoulet, Michelle Kerss & Perri Randall.
It was suggested at a post-shift review Tim Benedict may have earned the bbq equivalent of the Victoria Cross for his efforts facing insurmountable queues of patrons over the busy lunchtime shift.
This follows up an already very success result from our earlier BBQ on 12th June.
Many thanks to Marcus Corr, Franciska Dronjic, Keith & Andrew Ouranios, Richard & Noah Cuthbert, Kerrie & Millie Castor, Christine & Patrick Ma, Andy Issac and Gabriel Malvestuto.
Thank you all again & please stay tuned for our next Bunnings BBQ allocation in the new year.

WSL1 Winter Comp Champions!!!

Well done to our women’s SL1 team for their 8-1 victory in the WSL1 winter comp grand final against Footscray. It was a clinical performance, and as this team regularly does they kept their best form for the finals. In a close fought game the girls lead 1-0 at quarter time, 3-1 at half time and 4-1 at 3/4 quarter time, before extending the margin in the last. Congratulations again ladies!

Wrap Up from 14s Boys Club Nationals

During the school holidays our 14s boys with coach Perri Randall and team manager Mark Zibell traveled to Albury Wodonga to compete in the 2017 14s Boys National Club Championships. The trip was a great success with all enjoying a wonderful week of water polo and a fun time away.

NYP Dragons v Adelaide Jets, 12 April 2017.
NYP Dragons v Richmond, 13 April 2017.

The boys can all be very proud of how hard they worked. As a young team, they were competitive, particularly in their later matches, with a great win in their final game for the week. The overall improvement and individual learning displayed by all players was clearly evident, and this is what makes these tournament so worthwhile. Thank you to Perri, Mark and all the other parents who attended and helped make this trip possible.
